Why Park City is Special

As a long-time resident of Park City, I witness how Park City shapes outdoor sessions to create magic.

The terrain changes quickly, light moves fast through elevation and tree cover, and weather can shift within minutes. Open meadows, aspens, ridgelines, and quieter trails all create very different experiences depending on time of day and season. Even Main Street, Park City can be a unique setting. Knowing where to go and when to be there matters.

Mountain light is one of the reasons outdoor sessions work so well here. Early mornings and late afternoons bring softness and depth, while each season adds its own rhythm, from long summer evenings to snow that transforms familiar spaces.

I approach sessions with local knowledge. That includes how trails flow, how dogs move comfortably through the landscape, and how to plan with flexibility so sessions feel natural rather than rushed. Park City already invites movement and connection. My job is to know it well enough to step back and let that happen.

Outdoor Dog and Family Sessions

These sessions are built for families who want their dogs included as true members of the family. The focus is on movement and interaction rather than posing, using a documentary approach that allows moments to unfold naturally.

Working outdoors gives dogs space to move comfortably and families room to connect without pressure. The result is honest, story-driven images that reflect real time spent together, not a manufactured version of it.

Who This Is For

This work is for families who see their dogs as part of everyday life and enjoy spending time outdoors together. Sessions are relaxed and movement-based, with an emphasis on connection rather than posing.

It is a good fit for people who value experience and storytelling, and who want images that reflect how time together actually feels.

How Sessions work

Sessions begin with a simple conversation. We talk through timing, location options, and what feels realistic for your family and your dog. From there, I suggest locations and pacing based on season, light, and how you prefer to spend time outdoors.

During the session itself, the focus is on movement and flexibility rather than direction. We walk, pause, explore, and adjust as needed. Dogs are not expected to perform, and families are not asked to hold poses. The goal is to create space for moments to unfold naturally.

Many families I work with are visiting Park City or spend part of the year here. Sessions are planned with travel schedules in mind and can be shaped around short stays, seasonal visits, or time spent at a second home. Local familiarity allows for efficient planning without rushing the experience.

After the session, images are curated and delivered in a way that reflects the story of the time you spent together.
