This is all about Mari Jane, a 10-ish year old German Shepherd Dog currently in foster through Salt Lake County Animal Services (and not the other ‘Mary Jane’ – that’s another topic for another post!). Mari Jane’s foster Mom reached out to me to see if we could get some photos to help get her adopted. Mari Jane has been at the shelter, and in foster for over a year. Senior dogs should not be in shelters, and this girl definitely deserves a home of her own. Fostering is great, and is a good temporary solution, but foster parents aren’t usually permanent solutions. In Mari Jane’s case, she just needs to right person or family to decide she is The One. She’s a sweet, easy-going girl and absolutely deserves someone who will make her Golden Years truly golden.
I had the opportunity to take some photographs of Mari Jane, at her foster Mom’s request. We went to the Granary District of Salt Lake City, one of my favorite urban locations for for portraits. Home to old buildings, new buildings, my favorite local camera store (hi, Pictureline!), and incredible street art, we can always find unique backdrops for our photos.
Mari Jane was all about exploring the area, and armed with her very stylish ‘Adopt Me’ bandana, we went exploring.
She got to meet Kosmo, the Kosmoceratops at 479 West 700 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84101, and they both enjoyed each other’s company. (I think. It’s a bit hard to tell what Kosmo is thinking sometimes. With Mari Jane it is easy!)
We also stopped by my favorite street art in the area, an old camera on the side of an old building. I’m not sure how much longer the building will be there, but I’m always happy to see it. If you want to check it out before it is demolished, its at 385 West 700 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84101
We also walked around some of the newer and repurposed buildings in the area.
We also checked out what was going on at the Granary Campus on 400 West.
And we went to Kilby Court, famous for music and great murals! We also got a little bit of snow, which made the afternoon even more magical!
